Hello, Bluebird Families!
We had an amazing week full of apples! We had so much fun on our field trip to the apple orchard at Doe Creek Farm on Monday. We had a great time picking apples and having a picnic. The children said that their favorite part of the day was getting to use the apple picking tools! On Tuesday, we enjoyed working together with the Honey Bee class to wash, peel, slice, and chop the apples that we picked. We also measured some spices to add to the apples to make applesauce. On Wednesday, we got to eat the yummy applesauce! Then on Thursday, we were treated to a delicious apple pie that Sally made from our sliced apples!
This week, we played games and worked puzzles to practice letters, numbers, rhyming words, opposites, counting, telling time to the hour, making patterns, etc. We also enjoyed playing in bird sensory bins, creating with playdough, and building pictures on the lightboxes with magnatiles and glass jewels. We began learning about caterpillars and butterflies as we wait for our monarch butterfly to emerge from its chrysalis. We will continue studying and observing this next week, but will also begin learning about pumpkins. We will be taking a field trip to the pumpkin patch at Joe’s Trees on October 15th. Permission slips will be coming home this week.
Thank you!
Anna
