Dear Brilliant Butterflies Families,
We had a fun and happy week last week celebrating friendship and kindness in our class. We started the week with decorating our Valentine’s envelopes which were displayed in the hallway. We made beaded friendship bracelets and beautiful bouquets of paper flowers to give to our families! We tried a new painting technique using Sally’s salad spinner! This was thrilling for many of the children, and the paintings looked amazing! We worked on making a class book about the things we love, and we read it at story time. We played team building games and did obstacle courses on the rainy days! We had a fun STEM challenge building aluminum foil boats to float toys in the water. They were very creative and proud of each other when they succeeded! We had lots of fun playing outside and dancing together. The children have also been busy playing in the bakery and writing letters in the post office in our classroom.
This week, we are going to switch gears to start learning about the human body, germs, and the 5 senses. We will be transforming our bakery into a doctor’s office when the children seem ready to move on from the bakery. We are hopefully going to be moving into better weather soon and can spend more time outside going on nature walks and playing active games together.
