Hello Garden Families,
We had a fun week of learning all about apples last week in school! We started off our week with making our own applesauce. The children peeled and chopped the apples, and later we all ate some together! It was delicious! We also conducted an apple taste test activity. The children tried red, yellow, and green apples and wrote and colored a page for our class book about which apples they liked best.
On Tuesday we had a special visitor to come and share her knowledge on hornets. She brought in a real hornets nest, showed us a video about hornets, and had the children help make their own paper mache hornets’ nest!
Later in the week we created apple suncatchers, which are hanging in our windows, did some apple tree building, and practiced some farm themed yoga. We also learned about the life cycle of an apple tree and made a craft to show what we learned in the hallway.
We had a lovely show and tell on Friday and have been having fun playing apple rhyming games and songs at circle time. The weather was beautiful last week and we all enjoyed playing outside with our friends.
Thanks for a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Hannah, Wynne, and Shelby
