We hope you have all had a lovely Thanksgiving Break! We had so much fun at our art show last week! Thank you to all of the families that came through to view the children’s beautiful art. If you didn’t get a chance to come last week, almost all of it is still up, and you are more than welcome to come in to see your childrens’ work in the mornings or afternoon pick ups. The children loved introducing their families to the artist Yayoi Kusama, and inviting them to add dots to our interactive art piece. If you didn’t get a chance to help your child do this last week, you are welcome to add to it on Monday or Tuesday of this week.
Last week we started to talk about forest animals. We have learned about foxes and bats so far, and we have more forest animals and nocturnal animals topics to explore in this coming week. We have been practicing letters with games and art, creating things with play dough, and building with friends lately. The children all seem to love to color and eagerly ask for coloring sheets almost daily. They are working on complimenting each other on their color choices and coloring style (in or out of the lines). While I don’t particularly love coloring sheets for young kids, the children are so excited about them and are working on fine motor skills and having friendly conversations while coloring. We will give them opportunities to color together, while still providing more free art choices as well.
We decided to turn our farmer’s market play area into a vet clinic. If anyone has any doctor kit pieces or pet care items that they are willing to loan our class during this week and next, we would love to borrow them! We are going to be working on things as a class to add to our dramatic play area.
As always, thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us!
Thanks,
Hannah, Wynne, and Sadee 🙂
