Hello friendly foxes!
This past week we thoroughly enjoyed diving into our oceanography unit. We began discussing the oceans of the world, and how wonderfully diverse and interesting they are. We know that there are five oceans, and this coming week we will learn a fun rhyme so we can remember them.
We are building an ocean on our bulletin board zone by zone. Last week we focused a great deal on the sunlit zone and the creatures that live there. We learned how beautiful and important coral reefs are. We discussed fascinating facts about sea stars, seahorses, crabs, and jellyfish. We made lots of wonderful ocean crafts and played with lots of fun ocean materials. We looked at real Specimens of many ocean dwellers including sea stars, a real seahorse, real pieces of coral reef and lots of beautiful shells. We have a specially enjoyed reading and playing in our little boats in the library and have even taken up using wooden spoons as paddles! As always we enjoyed our wonderful music class with Marci and our story time with Bob.
This coming week we will continue our oceanography unit and explore some of the other creatures and other zones of the ocean. We are really enjoying this unit and plan to continue it into a third week.

Thank you for all you do!
