We had a busy and fun week last week learning all about apples and the season of fall! We spent time playing with green apple pie scented play dough, reading books about apples, and creating beautiful apple art to hang in our windows. We learned a new poem about apples and illustrated it in our journals. We also created some apple tree art. We had lots of fun playing with sensory activities like oatmeal, corn, and shaving cream together with our friends.
On Friday we had a fun time peeling, chopping, and cooking our own applesauce. The children were amazed at how long the peels were! We all loved eating our delicious applesauce together after snack time. We also had an apple taste test. We voted for our favorite kinds of apples red, yellow, or green. We created a class book about our favorite kinds of apples and tried to describe how each kind tasted.
We have continued to love dancing and singing with Ms. Marci in her music class and playing outside on our playground! We have been noticing lots of Monarch butterflies and dragonflies flying over our school! We had another day of Show and Tell on Friday, and the children did a great job of listening to and complimenting each other while they took turns sharing their special things.
Thanks for a great week!
Hannah, Wynne, and MaryAnne 🙂
