Dear Friendly Fox Families,
We had a busy and short week last week in the Friendly Fox classroom! The children came in on Tuesday to find that our pretend kitchen had been transformed in a Farmer’s Market. They have been having so much fun pretending to shop for fruits and vegetables that they have drawn and cut out, paying for their produce with pretend money, and using the cash register!
We continued our study of apples last week, by making parts of an apple craft, sorting pretend apples by color and size, playing counting and math games with apple manipulatives, and singing new songs about apples as a group! We have also been learning about farms and farm animals. We have been washing our animals in soapy water, singing silly versions of Old MacDonald had a Farm, and creating farm themed art for our classroom.
We have had some inside recesses with freeze dance and songs and games, as well as, some muddy outdoor play! We have talked about the season of Fall and what kinds of things we are noticing.
On Friday we said goodbye to our assistant teacher Ms. MaryAnne. The children helped to make her a flower bouquet and sent her with lots of hugs. We will miss her, but we are excited to welcome Ms. Sadee as our new assistant teacher! She already knows many of the children, and we feel lucky to have her join our team!
Later this week, I will put out a sign up sheet for our Fall Parent/Teacher conference. I can be flexible on the times and days, so please let me know if you need to find an alternate meeting time. Conferences will begin in the later part of next week.
Thanks again for sharing your children with us!
