We had a fun week last week focusing on the season of Fall, pumpkins, and leaves! We started our week with creating some texture painted forests using Fall colors. The children thought it was fun and silly to paint with forks! Our Tuesday friends went on a nature walk to collect leaves, acorns, pine cones, and many other special things. They loved this, and we hope to repeat this activity on another day when more of our friends can join us! Later in the week, we used our nature findings to create art. Wynne collected leaves from her house and taught the children how to make friendly fox faces! In addition to these fun art projects, we played with play dough, washed real pumpkins, practiced writing and drawing in shaving cream (our class favorite), wrote in our journals, and built pumpkin patches with blocks and pretend pumpkins and leaves. We had lots of time to play outside together at recess and loved dancing together in music class!
Thank you to those of you who have already signed up for a parent teacher conference. If you didn’t see the sign-up sheet, it is on the sign-in book. If you need a different time slot than what is available, please let me know so that we can make arrangements for you. I will be emailing your child’s progress report to you on Tuesday so that you can look it over and think of any questions you may have for me.
This week we will be focusing on pumpkins and preparing for our class Fall Festival, which will be on Friday. This happens during our morning and involves special Fall themed games and activities, healthy Fall snacks, and everyone gets a pumpkin to take home! We will be sending out an email with more information soon.
Thanks again for sharing your children with us!
Hannah, Wynne, and Sadee 🙂
