Health Week (part 1) :: Kindergarten

It was a fun (albeit short) week in the Kindergarten Superstars. Our focus this week was My Body– Healthy Eating and Activity. We talked about many things related to health, including  why we need to eat a healthy diet, which foods support the health of particular parts of the body.

The class worked hard to master new sight words, and we had a great discussion about “why do we learn addition?… do grown ups every use addition?”.

The highlight of the week came with the visit of some guests from the Chemistry department at VT who did several science activities with the class including extracting strawberry DNA, making slime, and creating elephant toothpaste.
