Kindergarten Super Stars Weeks 7 &8

Well, it’s been another fun and busy two weeks here in the Kindergarten Super Stars. For the first of the two weeks we celebrated train week where the children constructed their own train and turned it into a reading train! The stories and some math worksheets were also related to trains and they really enjoyed it. Added to this they also learned more about Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night. With the rainy days from this week also came a chance for the class to practice their yoga skills!

For the next week we celebrated nature week. For this the class has fun with a nature walk collecting pine cones, making a bird feeder, and transforming their train from the week before into thatched roof hotel! They had a lot of fun with this week. All the stories and songs were related to nature including Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy. The class also enjoyed learning about Ecosystems and divided up into teams to make posters about the ecosystem of the rainforest, the dessert, and the 

ocean.

 

We also discussed the importance of good speaking and listening skills including “eyes on the speaker”, “ears are listening to make sure no one else is talking” and other helpful hints for good listening. They have worked very hard to practice these skills! Next week we look forward to Dinosaur week.
