Space Week, parts 1 and 2! The class had a great time learning about the Milky Way Galaxy, the planets in our solar system, how the Sun is a star, and some aspects of space exploration! There were many fun songs and movement activities that we incorporated into the class time to help them learn the order of the planets and some small facts about each one.
The kids also enjoyed watching a video of an astronaut reading bedtimes stories from the international space station! Also, thanks to the generosity of one of our class families the children had the opportunity to touch a small piece of meteorite and taste a freeze dried ice cream bar. The students were most fascinated by the international space station and wanted to learn more about what life is like on the ISS.
Other subjects that were orbited this week include some new sight-words, number line addition, and working very hard on preparing some beautiful pieces for the art exhibited. On to family week!
