Hello, Bluebird Families!
We were so happy to see one another when we returned to school on Monday after our Thanksgiving break. The snow swirling about us added to our excitement! We dove right into studying snow, using our magnifying glasses to examine snowflakes as they landed on black paper. We enjoyed reading books like When Winter Comes, Why Does It Snow?, and Keep Looking. We also made our own swirling snow scenes by using cotton swabs to paint with white paint on blue paper. On Tuesday, we were captivated by two amazing books: Hibernation Station and Over and Under the Snow. We began working on our own over and under the snow artwork, which we will get to bring home soon. We also watched a short video about how to ski, because there was someone skiing in our book and we wanted to know more about it. On Wednesday, we read I am Snow and made snowflakes, which we are so proud of, for our classroom windows. Please come check them out! On Thursday, we enjoyed singing snow songs during our music time with Marci and continued working on our over and under the snow creations. On Friday, we celebrated a friend turning 5 in several special ways, enjoyed a yoga class, and finished our over and under the snow art. All week we worked on writing our first and last names. We think this is very special and important, as we have discussed that we will be writing our names for our whole lives! We will continue practicing this throughout the year and will continue studying snow, winter, and hibernation this week.
Thank you for sharing your children with me!
