We have continued learning about snow this week. On Monday, we drew snowflakes with our beloved tempera paint sticks and made signs declaring, “Let it snow!” to decorate our classroom door. On Tuesday, we read Flannel Kisses, a fun book about playing in the snow and then coming back inside to get cozy warm and drink hot chocolate. The students really enjoyed this book. Then we made our own snowmen collages, choosing our own materials for hats, scarves, buttons, arms, etc. They turned out so cute! On Wednesday, we had a snow day, fitting right in with our studies! On Thursday, we read The Jacket I Wear in the Snow, built snow sculptures out of white Legos, and even enjoyed playing in some snow on the playground. We also created snowy trees by curling green strips of paper around our pencils to make branches and adding cotton balls for snow. On Friday, we had another snow day. Perfect!
Thanks for sharing your children with me!
