Hello, Bluebird Families!
It was so great to come back to school this week and spend time with your children! We continued our study of volcanos. We read a few more books on volcanos. We painted our clay volcanos, which were finally dry. We played in a volcano sensory bin. We used baking soda, vinegar, and red food coloring to erupt a volcano in our class. You can watch a video of this on instagram! So much volcano fun!
In math we started playing with base 10 blocks and learning about place value. I presented each child with several numbers, and they created that number with the base 10 blocks. They really enjoyed this game and seemed to understand this tricky concept after just a few tries! We also practiced telling time to the quarter hour, which they understood very quickly, since they have already mastered telling time to the hour and half hour.
The weather was warmer this week, so we also spent more time outside, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine! We could not get enough of it!
Thanks for sharing your children with me!
Anna
