The Children's Garden

Wisdom begins with wonder

The Bluebirds Week One

Hello, Bluebird Familes!

We had a great first week of school! Thank you so much for sharing your children with me! I have had so much fun getting to know them! I am very happy to report that everyone is getting along well and enjoying each other. We are all adjusting to school and learning our routines. I often hear, “What’s next?” throughout the day! If you are curious about what we’re doing when, I posted an approximate schedule of our activities on the bulletin board just outside of our classroom. I may be tweaking it a bit, as I’m noticing our concentration and energy levels fluctuate throughout the day.

This week we explored birds. We snuggled up in our reading nest with books about birds, sung songs about birds, studied a real bird nest, counted birds outside, and painted with feathers. We also created 2 types of nests: one using shredded paper and feathers and one with playdough and blue marbles for eggs.

Please remember to bring in a family photograph to display in our classroom. I will wait until everyone has one to put them up on our class family tree.

Thank you for helping your child with their adjustment to school! This first week has been amazing! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to chat with me any morning or email me at bluebirds@gardenchildren.org. If you see me rushing out the door at 3:00 PM, please know I am not anxious to leave, rather I simply have to be across town by 3:15 PM to pick up my 3 children from school. I’m juggling life, just the same as you!

Thanks,

Anna
