The Children's Garden

Wisdom begins with wonder

The Brilliant Butterflies :: October 3 2017

Hello families,
We had another fun week last week in the Brilliant Butterflies class! We started our week learning about nocturnal animals. We focused on bats by reading the book Stellaluna on Monday. We made bat hats, played with bat playdough, and practiced putting our bats to sleep in a counting game. We also learned a new nocturnal animals song!  On Tuesday we focused on owls and hedgehogs, by making owl paintings, hedgehogs with playdough, and journaling about night time.
During the second half of the week we switched our focus to apples.  We read several books about apples and orchards, such as Annie Apple Farmer, and Ten Apples up on Top.  We made apple print trees, learned the parts of an apple, and tried our best to stack 10 blocks up with playdough. We enjoyed playing outside with friends every day and had a lovely show and tell on Friday.
Thanks for a wonderful week!
Hannah, Wynne, and Shelby
