Hello, Friendly Fox Families!
What a wonderful week we had wrapping up our Art Unit and preparing for our Art Show. The children have been so excited about everything we have learned together. They have truly enjoyed making and creating, and have surprised themselves with what they can do. This unit brings so much joy to my heart and it has been delightful to see how much joy it has brought to our sweet students. They have really been looking forward to showing their families all their amazing masterpieces, and it was just wonderful to see all of our loving extended families touring the Art Show with their child. This meant so much to the children, and it was so special to see how much pride they took in sharing each piece with you all. Thank you for taking the time to celebrate your child!
It was a lot of fun to have some surprises for the children in the displays, such as the “magic” reveal of their Monet bridges after the resist tape was peeled away, and the results of melting their Chihuly “glass” sculptures. We even revealed some art we have saved from earlier in the year, such as their self-portraits. It was delightful to see and hear their expressions and enthusiasm! We also enjoyed wrapping some things up by reading a book loaned to us called, “if Picasso Painted a Snowman” which really tied together all of the artists we studied. We enjoyed building a Kusama dot room together after watching how she invites the public to do this in her own museum installations. We made some lovely thankful leaves for our Thankful Tree; the children had such sweet things to say about thankfulness. Today we tied it all together by making some miniature museums to take home, which the children were able to fill with miniature versions of many of the masterpieces we studied. It was so sweet to top it off with giving each a little wooded doll to tour their little museums. Thank you to everyone who donated shoeboxes!
Congratulations to the Drumheller family on the arrival of their sweet baby girl! We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break together and we will see you December 2nd.
Warmly, Wynne, Nancy, and Christina
