Hello, Friendly Fox Families!
We have had a very exciting and fun-filled week celebrating lots of different events! We celebrated three different Friendly Fox birthdays, had a fabulous time honoring the 100th Day of School, and have had a lovely time celebrating Valentine’s Day together. The children have been especially sweet with one another this week. I am hearing them giving one another very kind compliments and helping one another out. I am even hearing them say that they will miss each other over the weekend!
We spent a couple of days wrapping up our Arctic Animal studies by learning all about Polar Bears. Did you know their skin is dark and their fur is not white, but actually clear and hollow? We learned all about how the mothers care for their babies, and even how they make lots of fishing holes in the ice. We looked at how small our feet are compared to the size of a real Polar Bear print, made some finger puppets, played with Polar Bears in ice and water and snow bins, and added a fun Arctic animal poem to our special journals. We had a wonderful time on the 100th Day celebrating in our pajamas with a scavenger hunt, a fun movement game, some 100 art, sharing our 100’s collections at show and tell, and a lovely popcorn snack. We have been counting up the days all year, so this was very exciting for us! We have also had a lovely time today with our Valentine activities. We had a sweet tea party, made art for our families, played in some love potions and made playdough love cakes and cookies for one another. The children are all so excited to take their envelopes home and see the surprises from their friends! We have had fun with all of these activities and so much more.
Next week we will plunge into our Antarctic theme and learn all about the creatures who live there. I have lots of fun activities planned for this coming week!
Thank you for all you do! Wynne, Nancy, and Christina
