Wisdom begins with wonder

The Honey Bees :: Week 16

Dear Families,

The last week before the holidays was a whirlwind, albeit a lovely playful whirlwind. I had planned to delve into some Jan Brett stories and we did not read a single one. In looking back at our pictures from the week it seemed we just wanted to dress up and play together. Our week began and ended with Marci’s music class, and that was just right for this time of year.

We made more snowflake art this week and enjoyed the book Snowballs by Lois Elhert. We also read a wondeful book called The Snow Friends by Ian Whybrow. We made collage snowpeople and several kinds of snowflakes during our art time.

We want to thank our families again for the great lunch on Wednesday. It is always a treat for the teachers to be able to have a meal together and celebrate the end of our semester. It was delicious.

We want to express our appreciation for Taulbee Cherry for being with us this semester while Kiyah was out of the country. She and her family have moved to Corpus Cristi, Texas, and there is an Annabelle sized hole in my Honeybee heart.

We are welcoming our new twins to our class on Monday, and we are looking forward to them being a part of our community.

We’ll start the week with Jan Brett. I’m headed out to get supplies to make another giant mitten so that we can play out our story. We also have a birthday this week as another Honeybee turned four! We have a cool new indoor gardening gift to discover on Monday, and we’ll be saying hello to January, talking about our new art journals, and starting to make all of the ABCs for our wall.
