I’m a little late to the blog this week. I was traveling this past weekend… and still just giddy with relief because we aren’t moving the whole school in two months. I’m so grateful for all of your support during these few weeks of wondering. We have a lease for another year, but it is a year to year process. I’d love to find a permanent home for this sweet school.
We had a short week last week as we continued with some space travel and exploration. Did your Honeybee tell you about how to get back from outer space? I showed them this video of a Soyuz capsule returning from the International Space Station. I fast forwarded a bit and narrated for them. Later, some of us found the landing site on the globe and did a pretend landing with an ISS model and a capsule model.
We have been fingerpainting together to create all of the planets and the sun. They are in the right order on our walls with the sun in the center. My car is currently full of inflatable planets, so we’ll see how we can orbit together tomorrow. I want the kids to see some models of the universe, and we are going to paint our versions of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
We are about to shift into learning and playing with dinosaurs and volcanos. We’ll learn about dinos, fossils, and life on earth before humans arrived.
