The Children's Garden

Wisdom begins with wonder

The Honeybees :: Week 24

I realized while I was meeting with teachers this morning that I never blogged our last week before spring break. We played with dinosaurs and read ALL the amazing dinosaur books from the public library.

We played all week in our big volcano/dinosaur/paleontology media bin, had water play with dinosaurs and scrub brushes, and made Honeybeesaurus art work with our hands. We had dinosaurs on the projector, and talked about building our giant recycled carnivore and herbivore when we returned to school after spring break.

Today we were going to read a favorite book from last year, Dirty Dirty Dinosaur, and we were going to do a favorite (of mine) fine motor activity… peeling crayons. Over break I found three silicone baking sheets shaped like dinosaurs, and I want us to make our own beautiful recycled dinosaur crayons.

When we return to school we are going all in with Paleontology and Fossils for a week. Lauren and I decided we wanted to learn about Geography this spring. The Honeybees will help us choose some countries, and we’ll create some passports and get ON BOARD. Did you know that Lauren lived in Australia when she was little?
