Good morning Honeybees… and Friendly Foxes and Bluebirds! I’m wondering what you are thinking about today. I thought I’d bring you a song, a book, and an activity this morning. Do you have any old crayons? Even broken crayons? Get set up to peel the paper off of each crayon. It is a great fine motor activity and very satisfying after a lifetime of trying to keep the crayons whole. It is good to set in up on a tray to catch all the paper wisps. After you have all the paper off, you can break them up into small pieces depending on the size of your silicone or muffins pans. I found these dinosaur silicone molds on Amazon.

Grownups, preheat the oven to 150 degrees. Bake your crayon cookies for 15-20 minutes until the crayons are melted. Overfill them just a bit to have them full when melted. Let them cool completely before you pop them out. If they are hard to get out put your tray in the freezer for a bit. There you go…. beautiful rainbow crayons to color with.
We were going to read this book today at circle time.

Do you remember what a paleontologist is? Paleontologists learn about life on earth in past geological eras by studying fossils. Remember how we looked at some fossils? Paleontologists are dinosaur scientists. Here’s a song for you about paleontologists.
